ADVICE ON WEARING & REMOVING A MASK

  • Place the mask carefully, ensuring it covers the mouth and nose, and use the elastic straps to secure it behind the ears

  • Check the fit of the mask at the nose, cheeks and neck to ensure there are no gaps

  • Avoid touching the mask while wearing it

  • Remove the mask using the appropriate technique: do not touch the front of the mask but unhook the straps from behind the ears

  • Replace masks as soon as they become damp with a new clean, dry mask

  • Do not re-use single-use masks. Dispose of them immediately upon removal

HOW TO MINIMISE VIRUS TRANSMISSION IN THE WORKPLACE

If you’re planning on returning to your workplace as lockdown restrictions are eased, you should consider the following:

  • Instruct employees to work from home whenever possible

  • Change shift patterns to reduce the number of people at work at one time

  • Ask employees to consider how they travel to work and to consider walking or cycling if possible

  • Ensure communal areas are cleaned regularly

  • Keep indoor areas well ventilated

  • Provide FFP2 masks for all team members on an ongoing basis
